Tribute to The Wild West Stein
    Buffalo Bill Show Relief Design
For Your Stein or Cowboys Related Collection-WestTribute1
    Details
    Description:
A very nicely decorated pottery large and substantial stein with a metal lid having a central porcelain figure of a sitting American Indian chief (Sitting Bull). The inside of the lid has the head of a Buffalo with the date 1883, the date Buffalo Bill Cody opened his Wild West show in Omaha. This large barrel-shaped stein is light brown in color with lighter highlights. The piece has all types of scenes from Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West show in relief all around the exterior. There is Anny Oakley standing on horseback shooting a gun, Indians chasing a stage coach, Buffalo Bill sitting back with gun in hand, a cowboy doing acrobatic moves on horseback, and the head of sitting bull within a circular frame. The stein has a turquoise colored ring near the base and the raised designs are surrounded by elaborate scroll design with the words WILD WEST around the frame surrounding the image of Anny Oakley shooting her gun. The stein has an applied handle with raised decoration showing overlapping feathers. The handle has a hinge attached to the lid with a thumb piece in the form of an American Indian head dress. Just a great piece for Western afficionados. It is marked on the bottom and is great looking. The stein is titled "TRIBUTE TO THE WILD WEST STEIN” and has the number 83625. It is made in Brazil, is very interesting, and is in great condition. The stein is substantial and has a nice appearance and style with an off-white interior and base. It comes with a pamphlet discussing its subject. It has a round recessed bottom with extensive inscription under glaze, which we show in the last photo. The stein is glazed both on the inside and outside. A nice and substantial stein weighing over 2 pounds and 2 ounces. A beautiful stein to add to your collection.
